Times New Roman Monumental is an experimental typeface exploring the relationship between classical Greek architecture and Latin letterforms.

The project began with a comparative study of architectural orders and monuments across the ancient Greek world. Their proportions, structural elements and decorative details were analysed and reconstructed as a visual library, which was then used to develop a system for building letterforms from architectural components.

Rather than reproducing classical ornament literally, the project investigates how architectural structure can be translated into typography while retaining the recognisable proportions of Times New Roman. Architectural elements were extracted, simplified and recombined according to these proportions, creating a modular system in which each character is constructed as an architectural composition.
